The ILX Lightwave LWM-6500B is a laser wavelength meter designed for precise measurement of laser wavelengths in research and development applications. It operates as a modular system, requiring compatible optical measurement heads to perform wavelength characterization. When paired with the OMH-6722B Silicon Power/WaveHead, the LWM-6500B measures wavelengths across the 400 nm to 1100 nm range with NIST traceable calibration. The system supports multiple sample rate modes
Slow, Medium, and Fast - and offers automatic or manual range control for flexible measurement operation. GPIB programmability enables remote operation and system integration for automated test environments.

Compatibility & Integration The LWM-6500B operates with the OMH-6722B Silicon Power/WaveHead for wavelength-only measurements. When the OMH-6722B is coupled with an OMM-6810B Optical Multimeter, the system expands to simultaneous power and wavelength measurement within the 400 nm to 1100 nm range. This modular design permits integration into larger optical measurement platforms and automated test systems via GPIB control. Product Status: This model is obsolete. Manufacturer support, repairs, and calibration services are no longer available.

ILX Lightwave LWM-6500B — Repair & Calibration Service
Aumictech offers NIST-traceable calibration and repair for the ILX Lightwave LWM-6500B. Calibration covers absolute wavelength accuracy at multiple reference points across the full measurement range, frequency accuracy, wavenumber accuracy, and multi-wavelength channel spacing measurement accuracy. All calibrations ship with a NIST-traceable certificate. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days after receipt.
Common ILX Lightwave LWM-6500B faults: interferometer alignment drift, reference etalon or HeNe laser end-of-life, InGaAs detector sensitivity loss, fiber input connector damage. Fizeau interferometer-based instruments (Agilent 86120B/86122A/C) most commonly develop interferometer alignment drift and InGaAs detector degradation over time. Burleigh WA-series scanning Fabry-Perot instruments most commonly fail due to reference HeNe laser end-of-life. Both types are fully repairable with post-repair wavelength accuracy verification.
ILX Lightwave LWM-6500B price
This ILX Lightwave LWM-6500B is listed at $3,500. Calibration is available separately from $450. Contact us for volume pricing or if you need multiple units.
ILX Lightwave LWM-6500B calibration cost
NIST-traceable calibration for the ILX Lightwave LWM-6500B is $450 (standard — pass/fail certificate and calibration sticker) or $650 (full measured data at every test point, reference standards documented, traceability chain included). Calibration for this instrument covers absolute wavelength accuracy at multiple reference points across the full measurement range, frequency accuracy, wavenumber accuracy, and multi-wavelength channel spacing measurement accuracy. Turnaround is 1 to 3 business days after receipt. See full calibration details →
