The JDS Uniphase MAPS+1K-Z081 is a line-powered Optical Spectrum Analyzer module engineered for integration into the JDSU Multiple Application Platform System (MAPS). It delivers high-resolution spectral analysis capability for telecommunications test and measurement environments. As a hot-swappable cassette, the module installs directly into the MAPS backplane without system shutdown or power interruption. ## Technical Specifications • Operating Temperature: 0 to 50 °C • Storage Temperature: -30 to 60 °C • Humidity: < 80% RH, non-condensing, 0 to 40 °C • Remote Interface: RS-232, GPIB • Firmware: Dynamic MAP firmware with automatic cassette identification ## Key Features • Hot-swappable design for rapid cassette exchange • Line-powered operation • Integrates with common MAPS backplane architecture across all chassis formats • Dynamic firmware automatically detects installed instrumentation • MAP Console software provides integrated system control and data management ## System Architecture The MAPS platform supports over 15 different types of hot-swappable instrumentation cassettes, enabling flexible configuration for diverse test scenarios. Two chassis options accommodate different laboratory and field deployment requirements: the 19-inch 8-slot Master chassis (MAP+2M00) for rack-mount applications and the 9.5-inch 3-slot Benchtop chassis (MAP+2B00) for compact workspaces. ## Compatibility & Integration • Platform: JDSU Multiple Application Platform System (MAPS) • Module Type: Line-powered Optical Spectrum Analyzer cassette • Backplane: Common hot-swappable architecture across all MAP chassis • Chassis Options: MAP+2M00 (19-inch, 8-slot); MAP+2B00 (9.5-inch, 3-slot) • Control Interface: MAP Console software with RS-232 and GPIB remote connectivity • Field Replacement: Module removal and installation performed without powering down the system
