The Astronics/EADS/Racal 1260-37 is a C-Size VXI multiplexer module combining 40 independent Form C (SPDT) relays with eight configurable 1×6 multiplexers in a single slot. This hybrid switching architecture maximizes chassis density for applications requiring both dedicated relay switching and multiplexed signal routing.

Signal handling: up to 1 A and 250 VDC or ACrms per channel Multiplexer Configuration The module supports multiple expansion modes: four 1×12 channels, two 1×24 channels, one 1×48 two-wire channel, or one 1×96 one-wire channel. Jumper-selectable configuration allows flexible adaptation to test requirements without hardware replacement. Relay Assurance Relay coil monitoring provides user-selectable confidence checking to verify proper relay operation during test execution. Control Interface Two control options are available: Racal Instruments™ Option 01 (message-based) and Option 01T (message-based and register-based). The 1260-01T Smart Card enables register-based operation with control-register-to-relay mapping. SPDT channels are addressed with a leading "1" (channels 100–139 map to relay positions 00–39). Control Registers operate 8 channels simultaneously with 8 control bits per register; Control Register 0 resides at the module's Base A24 Address.

Compatibility & Integration Module operates on any VXI platform. Supplied with one set of mating connectors; additional connectors are available in IDC (ribbon cable) or crimp (discrete wire) configurations. The 1260-37 was formerly branded as Racal Instruments and integrates with compatible smart controllers when a 1260-series smart card is installed in the left-most slot of a card set.
