The Astronics/EADS/Racal 1260-40A is a VXIbus matrix switch module engineered for signal routing in aerospace, defense, and telecommunications test systems. This C-size, single-slot module delivers 4×24 two-wire matrix switching with 20 MHz bandwidth and configurable architecture supporting 4×24, dual 4×12, or 8×12 matrix topologies. Non-latching relay architecture ensures safe failsafe operation - signal paths automatically disconnect upon power loss, protecting the Unit Under Test from unwanted signal injection during power cycling. The module switches up to 1 A DC or ACrms at voltages to 250 VDC or VACrms (terminal-terminal or terminal-chassis), with per-channel power handling of 30 W DC or 62.5 VA AC. Relay coil current monitoring provides confidence checking of switch state. Control is delivered via Option 01 Smart Card with message-based interface using standard syntax: "..".
