This unit

The Fluke 8062A is a handheld, microcomputer-based digital multimeter with a 4.5-digit display (20,000 counts) designed for field, laboratory, and shop environments. Built around dual-slope integration A/D conversion, it delivers noise-free measurements across DC and AC voltage, current, resistance, and capacitance. True-RMS AC measurements extend to 30 kHz, making it suitable for audio, video, telecommunications, and computer technology work.

The instrument incorporates relative reference (offset) capability, low-power ohms for in-circuit testing, constant-current diode test mode, and fast continuity indication. All inputs receive overload protection up to 1500V peak, with dual fusing (2A/250V and 3A/600V backup).

Common Fluke 8062A faults: blown input fuse, worn input jacks, display segment failure, relay contact wear on bench DMMs. Common faults include worn input jacks (banana socket contact wear on the mA and COM terminals), blown input fuses (especially the 440 mA HRC fuse), and display segment failures. Keithley 2000/2001/2002 bench DMMs commonly develop relay contact wear affecting resistance accuracy after extended service.
