This unit
The Agilent/Keysight E1370A is a VXI driver module for microwave switches and programmable step attenuators operating up to 26.5 GHz. This B-size, 2-slot register-based module supplies control, drive, and power circuitry to support either single-pole multi-throw switches or broadband step attenuators in 50 Ω systems.
Technical Specifications
- Module Format: B-size VXI, 2-slot, register-based architecture
- Frequency Range: Up to 26.5 GHz (limited by installed switch or attenuator)
- Impedance: 50 Ω
- Connector Interface: 14-pin DIP socket for switch/attenuator connection
- Power Supply: Selectable internal or external energizing power
- RF Connectors: APC-3.5 (SMA compatible) on switches; SMA female standard on attenuators
Key Features Microwave Switch Support Accommodates Keysight 8766K (SP3T), 8767K (SP4T), 8768K (SP5T), and 8769K (SP6T) unterminated switches. Each module accepts a single switch unit connected via the 14-pin DIP socket, allowing internal mounting or remote cabling. Programmable Step Attenuator Support Compatible with Keysight 33320G/H, 33321G/H, 33322G/H, and 33323K series attenuators. Attenuators feature broadband accuracy, high repeatability, and rapid switching with programmable steps of 1 dB or 10 dB resolution up to 110 dB maximum attenuation. Some models cover DC to 18 GHz. Cabling Flexibility For operation up to 18 GHz, high-quality flexible cable with SMA connectors is recommended. Frequencies above 18 GHz require semi-rigid type cable with APC 3.5 connectors.
Typical Applications
- RF/microwave test and measurement systems requiring automated switching
- Frequency-dependent attenuation in signal conditioning circuits
- Multi-port source/load switching in network analysis
- Broadband signal routing in millimeter-wave test setups
Compatibility & Integration Designed for integration into VXI mainframe systems with register-based command control. The module's dual-slot configuration and DIP socket architecture enable either local component installation or distributed remote switching topologies across multiple mainframes.
