This unit

The Agilent/Keysight E1610A is a single-slot C-size VXI module that generates and analyzes ATM cell streams at 34 Mb/s (E3) line rates. Operating within the Agilent E4200/E4210 Broadband Series Test System, it delivers test capabilities at both physical and ATM cell layers across multiple framing standards.

Technical Specifications

  • Module Type: VXI Module, C-size, 1-slot configuration

  • Data Rate: 34 Mb/s (E3)

  • Supported Framing Formats: G.832 (ITU-T Rec. G.832), G.751 PLCP (ETS 300-337, ETS 200-214), G.751 ATM Transmission Convergence (ETS 300-337, ITU-T Rec. I.432), pure-cell transmission (ITU-T Rec. I.432)

  • Operating Modes: Terminal (full signal generation and analysis), Repeater (physical layer loopback), Local Loopback (transmit-to-receiver electrical loop)

  • Capture Memory: 8 MB

Key Features Traffic Generation

  • Generates normal and abnormal test traffic with on-demand erroneous pattern insertion for protocol robustness validation

  • Protocol data unit builder with sequencing and library functions for complex traffic creation

  • One foreground channel plus up to 100 background channels for loading simulation Measurement Capabilities

  • Bit rate error testing using PRBS patterns within cells

  • PRBS error detection and analysis with trigger capability

  • Cell delay, interarrival time, and loss measurements via cell timestamp insertion Traffic Capture and Playback

  • Continuous capture with memory buffer lapping or event-triggered modes

  • Automated decoding with English-language display output

  • Filtered and triggered capture support

Typical Applications R&D engineering, product development, quality assurance, performance testing, type approval, and conformance testing for high-speed ATM transmission and protocol validation.

Compatibility & Integration Designed as a modular component within the Agilent E4200/E4210 Broadband Series Test System architecture.
